VOICED : Pacientes recuperados de covid-19 donan plasma en Colombia

The Colombian campaign encourages COVID-19 survivors to donate plasma for research. The project investigates if plasma from recovered patients can provide antibodies to help others fight the virus. A pilot study shows 80% of patients improve significantly, offering hope in the absence of a vaccine or standardized treatment. Plasma donation is similar to blood donation and takes about 40 minutes. Donated plasma is used in two sessions for severe COVID-19 cases. The campaign aims to give severely infected individuals a chance to recover. Colombia, with 50 million people, has reported 400,000 COVID-19 cases and over 13,000 deaths.
