New swine flu-related virus may potentially cause another pandemic: Chinese experts

A new swine flu virus, EA H1N1 G4, has been identified with pandemic potential. It contains genes from three H1N1 types, including the Eurasian avian flu and the 2009 pandemic strain. The virus is spreading among pigs in China, with 178 confirmed cases. Although two people were infected, the virus did not spread further. It primarily affects the human respiratory system.
