Landon Donovan is a renowned American soccer player known for his speed and skill. He began his professional career with Bayer Leverkusen at 17 and gained recognition at the Under-17 World Cup. Unhappy in Germany, he moved to the San Jose Earthquakes, achieving significant success and winning two championships. Donovan was named U.S. Football Athlete of the Year in 2003 and 2004. After a brief return to Bayer Leverkusen, he joined Dallas Football Club, becoming the American League's top scorer. Internationally, Donovan was pivotal in the U.S. reaching the 2002 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals.
