Korean Church Leader Facing Murder Probe Over Coronavirus Deaths

The city of Seoul filed a criminal complaint against the Shincheonji church leaders, including founder Lee Man Hee, for their alleged role in the spread of coronavirus in South Korea. The church was accused of hindering efforts to track the outbreak by not providing a full list of its members. Over 4,000 cases were confirmed, with more than half linked to the church. Seoul's mayor claimed that earlier cooperation could have prevented deaths. Lee Man Hee apologized and promised to cooperate with the government. Seoul allocated over $1 million for disinfecting religious facilities.
