He paid over $1,000 to reach Europe and was rescued by the Italian Coast Guard. For the first time since his arrival, he contacted his family in Kenya, reassuring them of his safety. Abde aspires to become a doctor in Scandinavia, specifically Norway, and values education over aid. Despite the overcrowded conditions in Lampedusa, he remains optimistic about his future in Europe, away from past dangers.
