Two French pilots, Bruno Odos and Pascal Fauret, escaped from the Dominican Republic after being sentenced to 20 years for cocaine trafficking. Fauret held a press conference explaining their reasons for fleeing, criticizing the Dominican judicial system. France denied any involvement in their escape, which was confirmed to be a personal initiative. The case dates back to 2013 when 680 kilograms of cocaine were found on a plane bound for France.
