Coronavirus may cause children brain damage in absence of respiratory symptoms: report

A study published in JMA Neurology by London physicians examined 27 children with an inflammatory syndrome related to COVID-19. Four patients developed neurological symptoms such as headache, encephalopathy, muscle weakness, and reduced reflexes, requiring intensive care. The study suggests inflammation may have affected the corpus callosum, a brain structure mediating the hemispheres, due to detected signal changes.
