VOICED : Peru: Capturan a 2 lideres de Sendero Luminoso

The Peruvian Armed Forces announced the dismantling of a Sendero Luminoso guerrilla column. A military operation led to the capture of two leaders, Dionisio Ramos and Alexander Alarcón Soto, accused of various crimes. The government is committed to bringing all members to justice as part of a national strategy. Despite the capture of many leaders, the guerrilla group remains active with around 350 members. Sendero Luminoso, responsible for a deadly internal conflict from 1980 to 2000, now employs hit-and-run tactics and uses children as human shields.
