Ernestine Rose

Ernestine Rose, born in 1810 in Poland, was a pioneering activist for women's rights and free thought. Educated by her rabbi father, she challenged religious norms and won a legal battle for her inheritance at 15. Moving to Berlin, she embraced atheism and joined the Free Thought Movement. In England, she advocated for workers' and women's rights, and after marrying William Rose, she moved to New York, where she spoke against slavery and organized the first National Women's Rights Convention. Her efforts in activism continued until her death in 1892, leaving a lasting legacy in the fight for equality.
