Burned human remains discovered beneath surface of Mexico City

Archaeologists discovered ashes near a square in Mexico City, dating back to the end of the Aztec Empire. They also found 13 intricately decorated incense burners in a family home's courtyard, used for rituals marking the end of a life cycle. The altar dates to the Spanish conquest era. The house, located in a quarter of Tenochtitlan, featured a large room connected to five smaller rooms, including a kitchen.
