Microsoft reaches new depths for new underwater data center

Microsoft's Project Natick tested an undersea data center prototype off California's coast. The vessel, named Leona Philpot, used ocean water for cooling and was monitored for environmental conditions. The trial lasted 105 days in 2015, and future plans include a larger system for extended deployment.
