VOICED: French crusader for gibbons in Borneo jungle

Aurelien Brule is dedicated to saving endangered Gibbons, having established the largest protection center for these primates. The Gibbons face threats from poaching and deforestation, with only 100,000 remaining in Borneo. The center employs 50 staff to care for 250 animals, taking precautions to prevent disease transmission. Aurelien, known as Chani, discovered his passion for Gibbons at a young age and has been working in Indonesia for 15 years. He warns that without intervention, Gibbons could be lost within 10 to 15 years due to deforestation, primarily from palm oil plantations. His dream is to reintroduce Gibbons into the wild, but challenges remain due to territorial conflicts and habitat loss.
