A journalist from Globovisión was found after being kidnapped for eight days. She was released near a hospital in Miranda. The Venezuelan Interior Minister, Miguel Rodríguez, held a press conference revealing that the kidnappers demanded a ransom. Although no arrests have been made, a special team is investigating the case. The journalist was kidnapped on April 6, 2013, in front of her home. In 2013, over 1,300 kidnapping cases were reported in Venezuela, but experts believe this is only a fraction of the actual number.
