Scripps Spelling Bee Will Return Virtually

The National Spelling Bee will return this year in a mostly virtual format, with in-person events limited to a dozen finalists at ESPN's campus in Walt Disney World, Florida. Last year, the event was canceled for the first time since World War II. Traditionally held in Washington over a week, this year's competition will span several weeks. Preliminary rounds are set for mid-June, semi-finals on June 27th, and the ESPN-televised finals on July 8th.
