18-Year-Old To Become Youngest Person In Space

Oliver Damon, an 18-year-old, is set to become the youngest astronaut on July 20th, joining Jeff Bezos on Blue Origin's New Shepherd mission. Originally scheduled for the second flight, Oliver got a spot on the first flight after the auction winner, who paid $28 million, canceled due to a scheduling conflict. Oliver is thrilled to fulfill his lifelong dream of going to space. Blue Origin describes him as its first paying customer, though the ticket cost is undisclosed. He will join Bezos, his brother Mark, and Wally Funk, who will become the oldest person in space at 82.
