The binational bridge, located in the remote Peruvian Amazon region of Madre de Dios, is a key crossing point. Migrants from various countries, including Senegal and India, seek transit permits to reach destinations like Ecuador and the US. Despite an illegal crossing attempt, most were returned to Brazil, except a few who tested positive for COVID-19 and received medical care in Peru.
