NASA's Ingenuity helicopter to fly on Mars in April

The Ingenuity Mars helicopter, attached to the Perseverance rover, is set to attempt its first flight on Mars. The $85 million helicopter will be deployed and undergo tests to ensure it can operate autonomously in the harsh Martian environment. The first flight will involve lifting off to three meters and hovering for 20-30 seconds. If successful, it will mark the first powered flight on another planet, with up to five flights planned over 30 Martian days, gradually increasing in altitude and distance.
