The Farnborough exhibition, located 40 miles south of London, was a prominent post-war aviation showcase that began in 1948. It attracted large crowds eager to see the latest in British aviation, although sonic booms were restricted. Manufacturers displayed their aircraft, competing to impress the audience. Despite restrictions, the exhibition rarely disappointed attendees.
