Rapidly growing wildfire forcing evacuations in Oregon

A wildfire in Central Oregon, known as the Darlene 3, has led to evacuations as it threatens homes. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze, which is only 30% contained. The fire is near La Pine and Bend, Oregon. There are currently 42 wildfires in the US, with 19 at 0% containment. A study from the University of Tasmania links increased wildfire frequency and size to climate change, noting that warmer nights hinder firefighting efforts. The six most extreme fire years have occurred since 2017.
