Nobel Prize In Literature Awarded To American Poet Louise Glück

Louise Gluck, a 77-year-old Yale professor, becomes the first American poet to win the Nobel Prize in Literature since Bob Dylan in 2016. She is the 16th woman to receive this honor since 1901. Gluck, a former US Poet Laureate, has won numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. The Nobel Committee praised her for her candid and uncompromising poetic voice. She will receive $1.1 million as part of the award.
