Israel, initially a COVID-19 success story, eased its second nationwide lockdown after four weeks. The country had reopened businesses quickly but had to reinstate the lockdown due to rising cases. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the reopening would be more gradual this time to prevent another surge in infections.
