VOICED : Malawian transsexual starts new

Tawonga and her husband Stephen were arrested in Malawi for breaking laws on homosexuality and sentenced to 14 years in jail. They faced abuse during their trial, but international outcry led to their release after one month. The couple eventually split due to societal pressure. Tawonga moved to South Africa with the help of a charity, where she started a new life and learned English. Despite facing hostility and violence, she remains determined to live life on her terms and hopes to find a new husband.
