US troops in Korea, 1950

Following UN recommendations, US ground forces were deployed to stabilize the front. On July 5th, a small US force engaged invaders south of Siouan. Initially, these troops served as a holding force, with additional support arriving quickly. Despite facing overwhelming odds, the troops excelled in delaying actions. The first UN heroes were American soldiers from the 24th Division, who stood against aggression in South Korea.
