VOICED: From Africa's greatest hotel to Mozambique's biggest squat

The Grand Hotel in Beira, Mozambique, once a symbol of luxury, now houses 750 families living in dire conditions. Built by the Portuguese, it was ravaged by civil war and now lacks basic amenities like electricity and water. Residents, including many children, live rent-free but face challenges such as poor sanitation and limited economic opportunities. Despite these hardships, the hotel remains a refuge for many, with a growing population of 3,500 people.
