Around two thousand Venezuelan university students marched in Caracas to the BTV channel without any clashes with the police, a contrast to the ongoing protests against President Nicolás Maduro since April 1. The students were received by Ernesto Villegas, the Venezuelan Minister of Communication and president of the state television channel. The students expressed their indignation over BTV's accusations that protesters killed a young man during an April 26 protest, while the prosecution and protesters claimed he died from a tear gas canister impact. Villegas provided the students with a journalistic investigation on the 76 deaths in protests since April, noting discrepancies with other government figures, as the prosecution counts 63 deaths. Villegas, the only minister to meet with opposition protesters, stressed his commitment to truth, regardless of who is responsible.
