NYC Opens Emergency Center For Influx Of Bused Migrants

New York City has established an emergency shelter on Randall's Island to accommodate migrants from border states. The facility offers 500 cots, bathroom and laundry facilities, regular meals, and international phone access, serving as temporary housing for single adult males. Families are housed in hotels. Since April, over 18,000 migrants have arrived, straining the city's already overcrowded shelter system.
