VOICED : Oposicion:1,5 millon de firmas verificadas para revocar a Maduro

The Venezuelan opposition announced that the Electoral Power verified 1.5 million signatures to initiate a recall referendum against President Nicolás Maduro. Once validated by the National Electoral Council, the opposition must collect an additional four million signatures within three days, representing 20% of the electoral register, to call the referendum. These signatures must be reviewed within 15 days. The opposition coalition, Democratic Unity Table, accused authorities of attempting to delay the referendum. They emphasize the demand of 1.85 million Venezuelans for peace and urge the CNS to work continuously. To revoke the socialist president, he must receive fewer votes than the 7.5 million he obtained in April 2013 after Hugo Chávez's death.
