VOICED : Policias de elite baleados por narcos en favela de Rio

Three elite police officers were shot in a Rio de Janeiro favela while mistakenly entering the area. Their vehicle was attacked by traffickers in Vila do Joao, part of the Maré complex. One officer was critically injured, another had minor injuries, and the third was unharmed. These officers were part of a 5,000-strong national force sent to enhance security in Rio, a city plagued by drug trafficking and poverty. To ensure safety during the Olympics, Brazil deployed over 85,000 security personnel, surpassing the numbers at the 2012 London Games.
