South Africans are demanding an acceleration in COVID-19 vaccinations as the country faces a third wave of the pandemic. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) organized a protest in Pretoria to push for faster vaccine approvals, including Chinese and Russian vaccines. South Africa lags in immunization, with only 2.5 million of its 59 million population vaccinated, mainly healthcare workers and the elderly. The country has recorded 59,400 deaths and nearly 1.9 million infections, accounting for 35% of Africa's cases.
