A tragic shipwreck near Lesbos resulted in the deaths of 37 migrants, including children. The group, consisting of Burmese, Afghans, and Syrians, attempted to reach Greece from Turkey. Turkish coastguards rescued 43 people, but many remain missing. Despite harsh winter conditions and European restrictions, migrants continue to risk their lives to reach Greece. Recent shipwrecks in the Aegean Sea have claimed many lives. According to the International Organization for Migration, 55,529 migrants have arrived in Europe via the Mediterranean by January 28, with 244 deaths reported.
