UK’s largest warship ever is ready for war

The HMS Queen Elizabeth, a 65,000-ton carrier, has achieved initial operating capability, ready to deploy within 5 days. Its first deployment will include Asia, potentially passing China and Taiwan. The carrier can carry up to 72 aircraft, including F35 jets and various helicopters for force protection. The helicopter force may include Merlin HM2 anti-submarine and early warning helicopters, as well as transport and attack helicopters like the Chinook and Apache. Support includes a submarine, two surface escorts, a frigate, a destroyer, a tide class fleet tanker, and a dry stores supply ship.
