The video discusses demodex mites, microscopic arachnids living on human faces. These mites, Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis, inhabit hair follicles and oil glands, thriving on sebum. Humans acquire them through contact, often from parents. While generally harmless, an overabundance can contribute to skin conditions like eczema and rosacea due to bacteria in their waste. Despite this, there's no need for concern as these mites have coexisted with humans for ages, similar to gut bacteria.
