A month after a devastating earthquake in Mexico City, volunteers in the Condesa neighborhood focus on rescuing books from a collapsed building. The building housed 21 families, mostly intellectuals, with diverse libraries. The rescued books, over 2,500 in number, are temporarily housed in a colonial home that once sheltered exiled poets. Volunteers assess and repair the damaged books, aiming to return them to their owners. The books hold personal stories and memories, including love letters and children's drawings. The owners are deeply moved to learn that some of their treasures survived the disaster.
