EU Approves Countries To Travel To Member States, U.S. Not One Of Them

The European Council plans to gradually lift travel restrictions for nonessential travel into the EU starting July 1st. Initially, borders will open to member countries and select nations like Australia, Canada, and Japan. China may be added if it eases restrictions on EU residents. Tourism is vital for many EU economies, but safety concerns persist due to COVID-19. The US, Brazil, India, and Russia are excluded from the list due to high virus cases. The EU will update the list biweekly based on coronavirus trends.
