The event takes place at the historic Plaza de Hacho in Lima, which has a rich history dating back to 1788. Despite its cultural significance, bullfighting faces opposition from animal rights activists. In 2020, Peru's Constitutional Court refused to ban bullfighting and cockfighting, both popular in the country.
