The US has resumed the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine after a temporary pause due to safety concerns. A panel has determined that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks, although they recommend adding a warning label about rare blood clots. The CDC and FDA will make the final decision on lifting the pause. There have been 15 known cases of blood clots, known as TTS, among nearly 8 million vaccine recipients, resulting in three deaths. These cases were primarily found in women aged 18 to 49. Symptoms typically appear one to two weeks post-vaccination. TTS is rare but serious and potentially life-threatening.
