VOICED : Detenido activista gay en Moscu en el primer dia del Mundial

British gay activist Peter Thatchell was arrested in Moscow during the World Cup's opening day for protesting against the mistreatment of homosexuals in Chechnya. He displayed a sign criticizing Putin's inaction. After a brief exchange, police arrested him. In 2007, Thatchell was also arrested and assaulted during an LGBT Pride march in Moscow. A 2013 Russian law penalizes homosexual propaganda in front of minors, sparking international protests. Despite this, Russia assured that gay visitors would be welcomed during the tournament.
