Malton in Yorkshire Badly Affected by Flooding

Residents in old Moulton hoped to avoid flooding, but blocked drains have caused water to rise despite a £9 million flood defence scheme. The fire service has been pumping water back into the river, but some homes are still affected. The Environment Agency acknowledges issues but maintains that the flood defences have worked, as the river level is higher than the surrounding area.
