VOICED : Recomiendan quitar impunidad a presidente de Guatemala

A special commission of the Guatemalan Congress recommended lifting President Oto Pérez's immunity to allow for a criminal investigation into his alleged involvement in a large-scale fraud. The Congress must hold a session and secure at least 105 votes from 158 deputies to proceed. According to investigations by the UN and the Guatemalan Prosecutor's Office, President Pérez is suspected of leading a mafia that accepted bribes from businesses to evade taxes.
