Walmart has launched a new app called Ask Sam for its employees to help shoppers find products and prices, and to send emergency alerts. The app, developed by Sam's Club in 2019, aims to increase customer assistance time. Meanwhile, Universal Films and AMC Theatres have agreed to shorten the release window for new films to 17 days before they are available on premium on-demand platforms, a significant reduction from the typical 75-day window. AMC expects to gain additional revenue through streaming on its own platform, AMC Theatres on Demand.
