VOICED : South African artist 81 keeps Ndebele traditions alive

Esther, an 81-year-old artist, began painting at age 10, continuing a tradition among Indybay women. Her skills have taken her worldwide, and she has taught many children to paint. Esther innovated by using acrylic paints, gaining international recognition, including a show in France. She emphasizes preserving tradition while embracing innovation and cultural exchange. Recently, she adapted Nelson Mandela's sketches, further cementing her legacy in African art.
