In Ecuador, President Lenín Moreno relocated the government to Guayaquil amid protests against the removal of fuel subsidies, which led to increased fuel prices. He returned to Quito for dialogue with indigenous leaders, mediated by the UN and the Catholic Church. Despite assurances of resolving the conflict, indigenous leaders continued their mobilization, emphasizing their aim was not to overthrow the government. Protests resulted in casualties and arrests. Moreno, supported by the military and right-wing sectors, accused former President Rafael Correa and Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro of conspiring against him.
