NASA finally reveals Hubble Space Telescope's successor, the James Webb Space Telescope

The James Webb Telescope's primary mirror is made of lightweight beryllium and coated with gold to enhance infrared reflectivity. It has a 6.5-meter diameter composed of 18 segments, compared to the Hubble Telescope's 2.4-meter mirror. The Webb Telescope is the size of a tennis court, while Hubble is school bus-sized. Unlike Hubble, which orbits Earth, Webb will be positioned at the Earth-sun second Lagrange point, 1.5 million kilometers away, following Earth's orbit around the sun.
