156 Private Wojtek, the War Bear - One Minute History

A group of Polish soldiers found a bear cub in an Iranian train station and adopted him, naming him Voytek. The bear became part of the 22nd Company, learning to drink coffee and salute. In 1944, Voytek was drafted into the Polish army to circumvent British transport regulations. After World War II, Voytek lived at Edinburgh Zoo, where he was visited by many, including his former comrades.
