VOICED : Israel condena a religioso islamista por incitar al odio

Raed Salah, leader of the Islamic Movement's northern branch, was sentenced to 11 months in prison by Israeli authorities for inciting hatred in a 2007 speech. He urged support for Palestinians and called for an intifada to defend Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Previously, in 2014, he received an eight-month sentence for similar charges. The struggle over the Explanada de las Mezquitas is a key factor in the ongoing violence affecting Jerusalem, Palestinian territories, and Israel. Recent protests have resulted in over 50 Palestinian and seven Israeli deaths.
