The Islamic State claimed responsibility for an attack on the Iraqi embassy in Kabul, which lasted several hours. A suicide bomber detonated at the entrance, and three others entered the building. Afghan forces killed all attackers. The Iraqi Foreign Minister reported two Afghan guards dead, while local authorities mentioned only one injured policeman. This was the first attack on the Iraqi embassy in Kabul, coinciding with ISIS's setbacks in Syria and Iraq. ISIS, active in Afghanistan since 2015, has claimed several deadly attacks in Kabul over the past year.
