What is a base?

• a number being multiplied by itself

What is an exponent?

• a number being multiplied by itself

• a number that says how many times to multiply

What is the top of a fraction called?

• numerator

• denominator

Why did we simplify the last problem from f^2/2 to f ?

• we do not have to write any exponent ever

• because we do not have to write an exponent when it is 1

• because 2/2 = 0

• because it was 4x originally

• because the x has a 1 in the denominator
