Mary Shelley, best known for her novel Frankenstein, was a prolific writer and activist. Born in 1797 to intellectual parents, she received an advanced education. She met and fell in love with Percy Shelley, leading to their elopement. Inspired by a summer with Lord Byron, she wrote Frankenstein, which became a literary classic. Despite personal tragedies, including Percy's death, Mary continued to write and edit. Her works, once overshadowed by Frankenstein, are now recognized for their literary and political significance.
