Lab 7A - Energy in a System

The bent track attaches to the stand at hole 

• 4 from the bottom

• 6 from the bottom

• 4 from the top

• 3 from the bottom

• 6 from the top

The photogate is placed

• 20 cm from the top of the track

• 20 cm from the end of the track

• the first mark after the bend in the track

• the last mark before the bend in the track

Where is the rubber band placed?

• At the beginning of the track so it will launch the car down the track.

• There is one at the top to launch the car AND one at the bottom to bounce the car back up the track.

• At the end of the track so the car will bounce back.

When using the memory button in CPO Timer Mode on the Data Collector, the time displayed on the LEFT is when the car

• went through the photogate AFTER the bounce.

• went through the photogate BEFORE the bounce.

You will be releasing the car at 

• different heights each trial.

• the same height for each trial.
