Add Two-Digit Numbers is a free printable Mathematics worksheet for Grades 1–3 that uses 13 multiple-choice questions to build addition vocabulary, place-value understanding, and computation skills. Students identify addends, sums, and regrouping; read tens and ones; represent numbers in expanded place-value terms; and solve addition problems with two or more addends. The worksheet includes direct calculations such as 38 + 13, place-value questions such as identifying the tens and ones in 24 + 5, and an everyday word problem about combining groups of cubes. It also asks students to apply regrouping when ones make a new ten and combine two-digit numbers with tens and ones. The included answer key supports quick checking, reteaching, or independent practice. Teachers can use this free printable worksheet for classwork, review, homework, or a short formative assessment.

This Grade 1–3 Mathematics worksheet uses 13 multiple-choice questions to practise addition vocabulary, place value, and adding two-digit numbers with regrouping. Students identify addends and sums, represent tens and ones, convert ones into a new ten, and solve calculations with two or more addends, including a cubes word problem.
Introduce the vocabulary items first by having students explain the difference between addends, a sum, and regrouping. Then model a place-value example such as combining 24 and 5, showing how the tens and ones change, before students work through the calculation and word-problem questions. Ask students to explain why 8 ones and 6 ones become 1 ten and 4 ones before they complete the multiple-choice items.
Watch for students choosing “sum” or “add” when a question asks for the numbers being added, which are addends. Students may also forget to regroup when the ones total reaches 10 or more, misread tens and ones in items such as 7 tens and 6 ones, or add only two of the three or four addends in the multi-addend questions. In the cubes word problem, check that they combine all three groups rather than selecting a partial total.
On Wayground, assign it as a printable PDF or use it as a digital quiz, and use the complete answer key to check the 13 multiple-choice responses. Printable submissions can be graded by scanning student work with the Wayground for Teachers app. The PDF option also supports schools that want to reduce screen time while keeping the same addition practice.
Use the worksheet’s Advanced Settings to adjust font spacing and font size so the vocabulary, place-value prompts, and multiple-choice options are easier to read. You can also enable a dyslexia-friendly font or translate the worksheet into another language when that better supports access to the addition and regrouping questions.
